Happy New Career!
As an old guy, I’m embarking on a new career path, but I’ll be walking along familiar terrain. I’m going headlong into the mortgage business. I’ve been dipping my feet in for a little more than a year, but I’m all in.
I think I need to clarify. I’ve been a licensed Unrestricted Massachusetts Construction Supervisor since I was about 19, and a licensed real estate Salesperson and then Broker in Massachusetts since I was 25. This new field of business is old hat.
I’m going to sit behind my computer and talk with people. I’m going to sit in my house and talk with people. I’m going to wear athletic wear while I work.
I want comfort, not stress. I want to work with good people who willfully take my advice and direction while working in a collaborative environment. I want to work with people who learn to understand that I have no tricks up either of my sleeves.
I’m not a bank or a lender. I’m not a magician. I’m not a shyster.
I’m not greedy, but I want to get paid fairly for my work.
I may not have the lowest rates, but then again, I might.
When you work with me, you’re not paying for a rate. You’re paying for excellent communication, service, and “hand-holding” when things get rough. And sometimes things will get rough.
I talk plain and tough, but I’m a big softy underneath the exterior. I try to put myself in the shoes of all my customers and clients. Every mortgage loan scenario is different, and every person behind every single one of those mortgage loans is different, and I respect that fact until I’m shown a lack of respect by any and all potential borrowers.
I’m wise enough in my old age to drop you as a client or customer at the first whiff of impropriety. I don’t care about money. I’m never going to be rich. I don’t want to become rich. I care about morals and ethics above all, and those tenets extend into the work I do for you.
Happy New Year Career!
